Revolution OS part 1

Clean Up Ubuntu Grub Boot Menu After Upgrades

No need to delete those lines to simplify the GRUB menu. The easier way
to keep only newest lines is to open the menu.lst (gksu gedit
/boot/grub/menu.lst), find "#howmany=all" and change it to
"#howmany=1″. Then run "sudo update-grub" to update changes. Next time,
only newest kernel lines will be shown.

Yes, you can uninstall Vista and restore your Win XP boot manager as well...

Boot your computer in to Windows XP.

Ensure you have the Vista DVD in the DVD drive.

Go to “Start” and “Run”. Type "cmd" & Enter.

Type “e:\boot\bootsect /nt52 c:" - Press Enter

(without quotes, and replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista
DVD & replacing c: with whatever is your XP partition drive).

***Ofcourse before doing this keep a backup of you data just in case
the boot manager gets hosed. It shouldnt, I have done this many times
and it will restore the boot manager.

Long delay; Eco called them "interstices".

Ahhh.. I am know I must be a fucking boring blogger. Yep I deserved the title.

The gaps in between. Short intervals in life we don't even give a shit to register & store in those nerve synapses. But we ignore the fact that they are the cement that keep our otherwise fragmented reality. beyond the routine, beyond the mechanical existence, beyond the bloody excuse we call life, it is these moments that we submit to eternal oblivion that glues us together & in fact are the "only" moments where we live.

Umberto Eco once referred to them as interstices. Artists like Tarantino have soaked them on celluloid too (remember Pulp Fiction: it is all about interstices ).

Make way for 'social finance'

I bet you never saw this one coming. It created the same exasperation you are going through. Who knew that someone would come up with such an idea. Sharing money between people you meet on the web ; just like friends you might have on any other social networking site. Its sort of a bank formed by people you know ( relatively ). Zopa.com is taking micro-finance to whole new level.

State of the Blogosphere

What is a Blog? The Lines Continue To Blur

Wikipedia defines blogs as:

  • A Blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually
maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary,
descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.
Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.
  • To elaborate a blog is a distinct web design, which has some particular features like archives of previous entries or 'posts', audience interaction tools like commenting and so on
  • The Blogosphere is the collective community of all blogs. Since all
blogs are on the Internet by definition, they may be seen as
interconnected and socially networked. Discussions "in the Blogosphere"
have been used by the media as a gauge of public opinion on various
    issues.
But as the Blogosphere grows in size and influence, the lines between
what is a blog and what is a mainstream media site become less clear.
Larger blogs are taking on more characteristics of mainstream sites and
mainstream sites are incorporating styles and formats from the
Blogosphere. In fact, 95% of the top 100 US newspapers have reporter
blogs

The convenient truth isn't always the truth.

Sounds funny, especially when it comes from a guy who calls himself "th(e) alt(e)r ego" . Traveling with Jibin gave me a great insight into a lot of thing, though trivial, but those which could have a compounded effect on life. Especially the time I spent on analysing Jibin's psyche (ha, I have been trying for the past 6 years), it still intrigues me how he still manages to cover his eyes with the cloak of a convenient world, which even at times move beyond the frames of illusion to complete hallucination.

But come to think of it, isn't this the same thing we all do everyday; especially when we our lesser defence mechanisms fail. I freqent between worlds of immense power & wealth. But are we supposed to be fantsise in a such a way that we completely trap ourselves in the-matrix-kind-of alter realyties.

the end is the beginning.....

   Thats Jibin !

Learning, Unlearning & Re-learning.

What was i up to all these time ?. Well as usual i was learning the basic of blogging. Coming to think of it , i thought i had already knew about the stuff. But my quest since last two days has indeed humbled me; more importantly it opened my eyes to the immense potential of 'social blogging'. Why the word social, well it is undisputed that at this very moment there could be millions of people experimenting with blogger or typepad. most of them end up being 'personal blogs' (mine too, till now that is ). Even tough they exist in public domain, they have near zero visibility.

Social blogging, on the other hand, offers to keep churning out interesting content worth noticing & spreading through our own social channels. in simpler terms, it means making yourself more interesting (NOT to mention all your social channels like facebook, myspace, orkut, peergroups, sms list & so on)

Now there is a catch to this; prettying yourself can also extend to such levels where its not the real you anymore. Now these things can mess up your noodles. Imagine the pressure! the alter ego colliding with the real ego.Guys like me will take the hard hit.

But there is hope once the dust settles, the pressure to 'create intersting' content , the bloddy thirst for style & detial; once these loose their shine, it would be much more easier - start shitting out about what ever comes to your freaking mind, claim to be a laid back person, establish a lazy bear image 7 so on.

hey i was supposed to write about something that much more intersting.

Life...Begins...Again...

Rebirth

Another philosophical straw you can hold onto while you flow downstream in the course of time & space. ( Forgive me if I am pretending to sound like a pro - writer).

Well I am an Indian; what do you expect. I was surrounded by similar beliefs & cultural programming since childhood.

Rebirth. Freaky, right. The very idea that you had access to another time & space. And the very thought that what you did in a distant dimension had profound effect on the very fabric of time & space itself.

OK OK I am a bit edgy here but hey guys this what I am ( you may think its full of shit but hey I don't give a **** )

And the connotation of rebirth here only suggests my COMEBACK to the world of blogging.
